  2. Your gallery brought back such lovely memories of places we have visited. I’m hoping that we can make some of them again one day. However Maureen often gets lost around the home and taking her out of her comfort zone is risky. Still Cleethorpe is a beautiful place to live and the beach is ten minutes walk away.

  7. Dear Wendy. Just this minute finished your book. I read it as niece of a 94 year old lady physically as fit as a fiddle with one big exception…. her dementia. Your book has answered so many questions I hadn’t quite formed in my mind about how best to interact with her. I cannot thank you enough. Your stoical attitude, frankness and clear account of days in the life of someone living with dementia have made this THE most important textbook I’m ever likely to read. I really enjoyed looking through your photos and it reminded me to take the large box of images in to Aunt Doris when I am there next. A HUGE thanks to a beautiful lady who had made a massive difference to so many. Love. Sylvia.

  8. Dear Wendy, I am on holiday in Crete and just finished your very inspiring, wonderful book. What can I say other than as an Occupational Therapist you have given me a much better understanding into the world of Dementia than I would have ever thought possible when I was recommended the book. It’s given me lots of ideas to practice when I am working with customers and carers living with Dementia. I will defiantly be recommending your book to colleagues, friends and staff in Dementia care homes. Thank you for taking the time to write this book and spread the word on living with dementia I can only imagine how proud your two daughters must be of you. Sending you love and hugs xxx

  9. You are an inspiration to everyone – a can do attitude – go Wendy!! Thank you for telling your story in such detail, it was a great read and certainly opened my eyes to the challenges of living with dementia. You have done so much to increase awareness of the difficulties and “magic” at times of living with this disease.
Keep on keeping on Wendy xx

  10. Dear Wendy, I came across your book by accident in my local library, and what a wonderful read it was. My lovely neighbour does have dementia and reading your book has helped me in many ways to now understand the person that she is and to see her ‘June ‘and not the label that is attached to her condition.
I now read your blog every day and through reading and hearing about your adventures I find myself so looking forward to each afternoon when I can tune in to see what’s new in the world of Wendy. I really just want to say ThankYou.

I wish I had your drive and determination, believe me I take my hat off to you. Wendy you are a great spokeswoman and you are the light shining out there in the darkness. Long may you GLOW.
A Big Hug to you my dear friend.

  14. Wendy, previously having cared for my Mother, who was diagnosed with Dementia a number of years before her passing in 2021. And then also saw the impact that it had on my wife’s mother and her close family. I now find that a close friend and neighbour has become inflicted with this woeful curse. We are trying to help, but are finding it somewhat of a challenge. Thus, I would be most interested in reading your book as a possible guide to how we can best cope in such a sorry situation. We love our friend greatly and it saddens us so to see her in such distress. Many Thanks Graham Moat

I also came across your book by accident— once I started reading it,I couldn’t put it down. Well, I did pause for a bit to absorb your thoughts and feelings, then I would continue to your next adventure ,
Your book — so poignantly written, gave me true insight to the thoughts of someone with dementia It helped me to process and understand what my long time friend and neighbor dealt with for many years. Your words helped bring comfort and the closure I was yearning for since his passing two years ago.
I wish you more happiness and peace in your journey — you have given the world such great insight into dementia— while giving those who struggle with it a voice !
    Bless you 🥰
