One of the most important reviews of my book…..

There’s been many reviews in publications but this one was so important. It’s by Gail, one of the 4 Amigos. In this photo, Gail is the one bottom left with the huge smiley face ☺️

I didn’t ask Gail to write it so no money has been exchanged 😂, but when it appeared, I was thrilled to read what a playmate would say….

Me and Gail have never actually met but I feel we have so much in common. We both love our daily walks with our cameras and Gail takes some amazing photos. We both appreciate the time and effort that’s gone into each photo we see of each other’s.

She’s also an amazing wonder of creations in her craft room as well, so talented.

Gail was diagnosed a couple of years ago I think 🤔

Anyway click the link below, which will take you to Gails blog and her thoughts on my book….

About wendy7713

On the 31st July 2014 I was diagnosed with Young Onset Dementia. I may not have much of a short term memory anymore but that date is one I’ll never forget. I’m 58 years young, live happily alone in Yorkshire, have 2 daughters and I’m currently still in full time employment in the NHS. However, I’m now in the process of taking early retirement to give me a chance of enjoying life while I’m still me. I've started this blog to allow me, in the first instance, to write all my thoughts before they’re lost. If anyone chooses to follow my ramblings it will serve as a way of raising awareness on the lack of research into Alzheimer's. It will hopefully convey the helplessness of those diagnosed with dementia, as there is no cure – the end is inevitable. However, I’m also hoping I can convey that, although we've been diagnosed, people like me still have a substantial contribution to make; we still have a sense of humour; we sill have feelings. I’m hoping to show the reality of trying to cope on a day to day basis with the ever-changing environment that dementia throws at those diagnosed with the condition. What I want is not sympathy. What I want is simply to raise awareness.

  1. Lovely book review from Gail – speaking from her own experience. I have placed an order with Little Apple bookshop in York – really looking forward to reading your second book Wendy!

  2. I loved your first book – it really helped me be more considerate with my Dad, and I constantly use what I learned from it and watching you talk at an event one time in my role as a social prescriber. Based on this review I’m getting a copy of this for me and a copy for our resource library at work

  4. If your first book should be required reading for any professionals dealing with people living with dementia then your new book really brings primarily your, but also many others, experience to life. I can hardly put the book down. It is both amazing and thought provoking.
