Help to find a name………๐Ÿ˜Š Bit of fun for a Friday…

Emma Williams, Dementia Action Alliance co-ordination for the East riding of Yorkshire, has set out this little local task of naming the cute forget me not flower below that we’d like to use to help raise awareness in our area……

This is what Emma says”

“Look who we’d like to introduce you to…this little forget-me-not would love to help us raise awareness of dementia, bust some myths, and squash stigma. Suggestions for their name please :-)”

If you or any family or friends have any suggestions for a name, please email or post a comment on my blog…..I’ll let you know the winning name in the fullness of time……….

About wendy7713

On the 31st July 2014 I was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimerโ€™s. I may not have much of a short term memory anymore but that date is one Iโ€™ll never forget. Iโ€™m 58 years young, live happily alone in Yorkshire, have 2 daughters and Iโ€™m currently still in full time employment in the NHS. However, Iโ€™m now in the process of taking early retirement to give me a chance of enjoying life while Iโ€™m still me. I've started this blog to allow me, in the first instance, to write all my thoughts before theyโ€™re lost. If anyone chooses to follow my ramblings it will serve as a way of raising awareness on the lack of research into Alzheimer's. It will hopefully convey the helplessness of those diagnosed with dementia, as there is no cure โ€“ the end is inevitable. However, Iโ€™m also hoping I can convey that, although we've been diagnosed, people like me still have a substantial contribution to make; we still have a sense of humour; we sill have feelings. Iโ€™m hoping to show the reality of trying to cope on a day to day basis with the ever-changing environment that dementia throws at those diagnosed with the condition. What I want is not sympathy. What I want is simply to raise awareness.
